Langton Communications is a consulting firm that specializes in media relations and event planning services for the beauty and lifestyle industries. Established in 1996 by Donna-Lee Langton, Langton Communications represents various clients in the fields of hair care, skincare, nail lacquers, salons, spas and some of the biggest shows and events in the professional industry such as the Allied Beauty Association Shows and the Contessa Awards. Some of our past and present clients include Elizabeth Arden Canada, OPI Products, The Allied Beauty Association, Centura Brands – a divison of RFG Sales, Joico Canada, Schwarzkopf Professional, Tweezerman and Wahl Canada.
A little bit of background... Donna-Lee Langton has worked in the advertising and public relations fields for twenty-three years, seventeen of which have been spent specializing in media relations for the beauty industry. From 1991 to 1996, she was in charge of all advertising and public relations activities for Joico Canada. During this time she planned and executed local and national advertising campaigns, coordinated special events that ranged from ski trips for Joico’s clients to the Joico Hair Fantasy Competitions which were covered annually by The Toronto Sun, The Toronto Star, Cityline, Fashion Television, CityPulse News, CTV News, Global News, CBC News and many other media. Past accomplishments include coordinating all of the hairstyling for the 2004 Toronto Fashion Week’s Spring and Fall Collections. In 2005 she was asked to assume the position of Public Relations Director for the Fashion Group International, which was followed by an appointment to the position of Programming Committee co-chair. She is also the Co-founder of the John Steinberg Open Pool Tournament, which was awarded the 2005 Contessa Award for Community Service. The shoe-string-budget event attracted the support of various celebrities including award winning Figure Skater Kurt Browning, Recording Artist Tom Cochrane, Bare Naked Ladies’ band member Kevin Hearn and Actor Daniel Baldwin. The celebrity players resulted in media coverage from many local media such as Now Magazine, Fashion Television, Cityline and CBC News.
